The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the Maintenance system-based SAP PM program of Electrical inspections using all available predictive and diagnostic technologies. Assists in troubleshooting plant problems, proposes solutions, coaches supervisors, participates in any activity that enhances the day-to-day and week-to-week activities of the Maintenance Department and of the plant. Proposes, design and executes equipment/system improvements, as required/needed.
Responsibilities
Monitors equipment condition, in part, by performing both a formal schedule of systematic inspections (PM) of plant equipment, and non-systematic inspections as required by equipment stoppages, daily incidents and pending turnarounds.
Records and analyzes data, then initiates the appropriate work orders, in order to maintain or replace equipment components so that equipment reliability and performance are maximized and costs can be minimized and budgeted properly.
Responsible for the formal schedule of PM activities (Master Schedule) for development, review and modification.
Use of Advanced Detection Techniques to perform the equipment inspections along with 5 senses and simple measurement methods.
Performs follow-up inspections and verifies tolerances in critical issues to assure compliance to acceptance standards and the PPM Guidelines.
Inspects repairs and/or rebuilds being made off-site, and the responsibility is shared with the Planner for the quality of specialized items received by Stores.
Is the recognized technical expert within the defined plant area and provides support accordingly.
Makes most technical decisions regarding plant equipment for the Planner, and coaches other maintenance practitioners whether involved in Inspection or Execution functions.
Interacts with production personnel regarding operating procedures, which have an impact on equipment.
Participates in the budgeting process and is the prime source of advice in the planning and scheduling of major maintenance activities.
Keeps up-to-date on advances in PPM technology and equipment through participation in the Lafarge PPM network as well as by maintaining relationships with the Technical Center and appropriate suppliers.
Uses Maximo/SAP to help manage activities and to generate the maintenance KPI's which measure the effectiveness of his function.
Ensures safe operations including safety toolbox talks, site inspections & Field Risk Assessments (FRA's), safety work practices, safety incident investigation.
The position can be described as highly technical, and includes all functions or tasks necessary to achieve adequate operation, maintenance and performance of the equipment.
Charged with both the visual inspection and integrity testing of all plant equipment.
Supervise/manage employees and contractors (when required). Responsible for employee development through being a mentor/coach.
The administrative function includes all aspects of asset management and accounting. This would include control, planning, reporting, budgeting, security, etc.
Keep a detailed history of all motor and drive test data; utilize this recorded data to assist the department in budgeting need for long term planning.
Stay current and knowledgeable with the plant control systems and plant computer systems to act as a resource for the Automation/Systems Supervisor.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required Education: Minimum Associates degree or equivalent industry experience
Required Work
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the area of maintenance inspection preferably in the cement or other heavy industry

Knowledgeable in current safety regulations and guidelines and plays an active role in promotion of plant safety.
